first time posting.. i am having a multitude of errors with my laptop and they began about two weeks ago (which happened to be a few days before i flew out of canada). because they are so vast, i am not sure where to post or what information is required so i will list a few things that i can remember and give some details of my laptop.
-dell vostro 1500 (1 year old), intel T7500 @ 2.2 Ghz, 3 GB RAM, big HD partitioned in two
-windows xp, home edition, 2002, SP3
-had two AV and got rid of one of them (kept AVG 8)
some of the errors:
-recently, i get "generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem.." and restarts at least once or twice a day
-get blue screen of death, with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL...
-can't run check disk from windows or DOS (or defrag for that matter)
-everytime i boot, i get "error loading c:\windows\Qzoyac.dll
-booting freezes when i go to enter my password to log into windows
-when i enter boot menu and go through diagnostics, it fails some read and verify tests
-got some pop ups in IE even though i only use mozilla, but those don't come up any more
So there is a synopsis. I have seen other people post their hijackthis results in forums but i am not sure how do to that or where i would do that. Any help would be immensely appreciated since i am away at school for the next 6 months!!
I will have to run the tests again since I can't find the post-it with the errors I had. As for the blue screen, it says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.. And finally, how would i go about erasing Qzoyac.dll (and it was spelled correctly - its baffling me)
Not sure if another thread has started but I have gotten 2 blue screens in the past 3 days, woth the same IRQL_NOT_LESS... error as you had. I added 2GB of mem to my Inspiron 1720 laptop a few monthsa go and everything seemed fine. I also ran a system chk and nothing came up. I would have to think it's the new memory (which I did buy from Dell). Does anyone have any suggestions other than to try and Dell to replace it ? running Vista home edition...
not sure if you were asking me or the other person that posted on my original thread complaining about his computer. but basically, i have been in touch with dell since my posting and the guy was able to remotely access my laptop and clear out a few things. i don't get the blue screen anymore but my HD or OS still doesn't work to full capacity. i am away at school till the summer so it'll have to do till then (ill call dell when i get home and mayber replace the HD, which they were originally going to do).

Hi martski and welcome to the Dell fourms.
For your question on how to post a Hijack this log. Go HERE and read the very first thread by Bugbatter.
You can be infected or just have a corrupeted OS. Post the log and let the great folks over there analyize it for you.
