Help with IE explorer script debugger

On certain websites my IE script debugger kicks in and won't allow me to use certain parts of the website, especially with posting websites.  I click off "disable script debugger (internet explorer) and click it back on and that seems to do the job for a short while...Then it happens again later...I have installed SP2 alright. What should I do?

It seems to be a flaw in IE, which is annoying. I use Firefox, or Avant Browser.

Here is one possible link for solutions:

    HERE

It can also be caused by sites in your Internet options-security-trusted sites.

    Good luck!!

This is actually not an issue with your browser per se.  It is the author of the web page not having correctly written out the script in issue and testing it on mutiple OS and browsers.  Some scripts will work on newer versions of IE or Netscape, while not functioning on older versions, and the same thing applies across systems from Mac to Windows.

Until the page is corrected the error will exist no matter what you do.  If you turn of the debugger, you wil see in the status window a caution sign and the word 'error', double clicking it brings up the error panel and issue with the page.

I was probably thinking up that popup on certain sites "Do you want to continue running scripts on the page" and had to keep clicking "yes" or "No". That was an annoyance in IE.

The "error on page" can be caused by bad coding, or if you somehow block one of the scripts, or an object (a picture, for example) that the script is calling (expecting) with a spyware blocking program, or having a site in your restricted zone.
(I base this on guesswork, although a script expert may say different)

Take for example "Flowgo.com" I get an error on page saying "object expected". I am assuming that is because of my anti-spyware programs blocking a site, like "euniverseads.com"

But I don't have that problem with Firefox.

Also, I don't recall getting a "error on page" Warning with Avant Browser either.

If you would provide the URL to the address that gives you script errors, maybe someone can tell you why.

(unless it is a site you don't want anyone to know about)

P.S. I believe I found what was causing the script error at Flowgo.com

I read the details of the script error and it lead me to this in "page source"

    >

(line 7 char 3?? object expected) script error.

I added http://www.cursorzone.com/ to my "restricted zone" in internet security, and that stopped the script errors at Flowgo.com.

Sometimes, reading the details of a script error can help.
