Hello, i ve got an inspiron 9400 (or maybe for usa reference should be E1705) with a CoreDUO 2400 (1,83ghz) processor. It appears the second core seems to be inactive. i ran everest, sisoft sandra or 3D mark 06, no such Second core. I have a dual boot xp/vista and under xp there is no matter. Multicore is activated under bios. Is there a solution ? Thx
Hello, Task Manager ? Nothing precisely...about my second core. Should i see something about multicore ? it appears my second core is really inactive, why i don't know. I précise i see only one core active, like a simple core cpu. Everest or sandra didn't see a multicore cpu.
what everest says : Propriétés du processeur: Type de processeur Mobile DualCore Intel Core Duo T2400, 1833 MHz (11 x 167) Alias du processeur Yonah Stepping du processeur C0 Jeu d'instructions x86, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Vitesse d'horloge originelle [ TRIAL VERSION ] Min / Max du multiplicateur du CPU 6x / 11x Engineering Sample Non Cache de code de niveau 1 32 Ko per core Cache de données de niveau 1 [ TRIAL VERSION ] Cache de niveau 2 2 Mo (On-Die, ATC, Full-Speed) Informations physiques: Forme du composant 479 Ball uFCBGA / 478 Pin uFCPGA Taille du composant 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm Transistors [ TRIAL VERSION ] million(s) Technologie utilisée 65 nm, CMOS, Cu, Low-K Inter-Layer, High-K Gate, Strained Si Taille interne [ TRIAL VERSION ] mm2 Voltage au coeur 0.950 - 1.262 V Voltage d'entrée/sortie 0.950 - 1.262 V Fabricant du processeur: Nom de l'entreprise Intel Corporation Information sur le produit http://www.intel.com/products/processor Utilisation du processeur: CPU #1 / Coeur #1 6 %
(You can see just one cpu usage. ( bottom line)

I just started my note book (Dell Latitude D820), it has an Intel Core 2 processor, T7200. The Task Manager Performance tab shows two CPU histpry graphs, on for each logical processor. Note - Not all Core 2 Duo processors are hyper-threaded.
thx, i understand now... Task Manager Performance tab showed me not two CPU history graphs but just one... I made a new install of Vista and now i could see 2 graphs.. I came back to original performances. What was the problem ? i don't know (win update ? drivers ?) thx
