    myoung7705,

If you have two boot paths shown, you must have reintalled XP which modified your Master Boot Record and disabled PC Restore. You should be able to revive PC Restore using the procedure here.

If one of the boot paths did not work, you could remove it by going to Start|Run, entering msconfig and clicking OK. On the BOOT.INI tab click the "Check all boot paths" button. One path will be identified as not valid and you will be able to delete it at that time. However, since they both work it appears that you have two installations of XP on your system so you could delete one of them by editing the boot.ini file as described here. (Doing a proper reinstallation of XP would be preferable, however.)

    Hi everyone!

i was wondering why can't you get a Intel® Pro WLAN 3945 Internal Wireless (802.11a/b/g 54 Mbps) for XM170 in UK but you can in the USA

    myoung7705,

To boot to a DOS prompt you need a boot floppy. You can download the files for one from here. The command prompt referred to in the other document is what is displayed when you go to Start|Run, enter cmd and click OK. It will be of the form C:\Documents and Settings\Your account>.

    myoung7705,

Try the procedure here for creating a bootable DOS CD-ROM.

Bootcfg is not recognized by Windows XP Home Edition, so if you are running that edition use the manual editing instructions for modifying boot.ini by going to Start|Control Panel|System|Advanced Tab|Startup and Recovery.
