PCMservices

I had a "slow down" issue with my Dimension so I clicked on the task manager to see what apps and serivces were running.  The app PCMService.exe (Dell Media Experience) was not only running but using up CPU time in cycles, from 0 to 60 percent back to 0 in  regular rhythm.  I left the task manager running in background and watched the  CPU usage in the system tray scrool up and scroll down repeatedly.  Is this normal?  Can this be any good for system performance?  Or is this much to do about nothing?

When I turn off the PCMService, the CPU cycling stops.

Thanks
Brian

Thanks for the feedback.  The erratic memory usage by PCMService is not dependent on any pointer movement.   CPU Usage seems to flow up and down in an eerily rhythmic cycle, regardless of any activity on the users part.   I guess the only option left for me is as the KB article you suggested, stop the autoloading of the PCMService.exe.  I was just curious to see if others were seeing this same behavior.  Apparently not.

    Thanks again
