I have a friend that I'm trying to help out. Her computer was a mess. It was loaded with a virus, spyware, Malware and Ad-ware. I have it back in pretty good working order. I cannot update it because she doesn't have validated software. I cannot load sp2 software. She now has a stream of pop-ups. Does anyone have suggestion on how to stop these. This was all caused because she didn't have any Anti-virus protection for some time. I now have have her provider anti-virus on her system. She would like to keep this computer for a a few months until she can get a new one. I know what I would do with it!!! I need to get the pop-ups stopped or it will load up again.

 

The computer is an 2002 sp1 xp version.
