Problem with Battery Not Charging
I have a dell D610 running windows 8. It was working fine (and still is) but the battery is not charging at all. I noticed a small gap in the wiring so I bought another power adapter. The battery still did not get a charge so I bought a new battery. The battery still is not charging. I don't know how to solve this problem and would appreciate any help, suggestions, advice that anyone with more knowledge than I can give. Thanks in advance, Katja

I have researched online and found that this is a problem with the D610. Someone suggested reinstalling intel chipset. I'm not sure if that is something I can do or not but I was hoping to get other answers or ideas. I will try hardware support, thank you.

Greetings from Dell.
Issue with the Battery and Adapter has been ruled out as you have stated that you have swapped both. We suspect that the motherboard could be faulty here however would request you to kindly update the Bios and revert if there is any change. Also kindly check the battery and adapter status in BIOS.

I have the same problem and have replaced the motherboard. I have three known working P12 Family adapters that show up in the BIOS. I have purchased two new batteries that show up in the BIOS as good and charging but at 0%. They will not go past 0% no matter how long I leave the system plugged in r which adapter I use. I have A06 BIOS which is the latest for this system. If I unplug the adapter the system shuts down. I can put a module battery in the DVD slot and it charges and runs the system. Really would like to resolve this please.
