problems with my Outlook Express 6.0 Please Help!!!!

Hello -
We have the Windows XP home edition with the SP2 update installed.  At the end of January we discovered that we had a few viruses.  So we updated our Anti-virus program with the McAffee 2005.  Well, ever since we removed those viruses:
1.) When I open my Outlook Express 6.0 it says that Outlook Express is not my current default mail client - would you like to  make it your current default mail client - yes/no?

2.) I can not click on a link on a website or in an email to send an email to someone - it says that my Outlook is not properly installed - then it will all of a sudden open about 60 windows of nothing.

Any idea what is going on??  Please help!!

    misscookie909,

If clicking the "Make default" button in OE's Tools|Options|General tab under Default Messaging Programs does not set OE as the default, try the procedure here.

I have been checking around this area to see if my problem could be solved by reading similiar posts.  I, also can not e-mail, fill a registration form or sent e-mail a page due to my default messenger (client) not being properly installed.

Both defaulting message programs are lightened, and I can not click onto them.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,
