Sudden Startup Change

My 2400 has boot up in less than a minute always. my specs are listed below. Yesturday, it booted up wierd. Software wierd. Only antivirus on startup all others i load manually for a speed startup. It usually plays the xp theme, loads the desktop, boots my scanner and at the same time loads the antivirus. Now, it plays the xp theme, boots the scanner and at the same time loads the antivirus, then the desktop. Why? No, change in software or in startup or anything. No viruses or anything. I don't it has become slower, but im just wondering why did my pc startup process change in the order it loads?

Good question! I don't have an answer, but I've noticed icons in my system tray aren't always in the same order. Sometimes Mcafee is closest to the clock, other times nvidia icon is closest. Today volume control icon is first but it's usually last. I have all of them set to 'show always', so it isn't that some got hidden and the the order changed.

I wouldn't worry unless you start seeing problems or find malware on the system.

Could it be something to do with scheduled (monthly) antiviral scans or with scheduled searches for software updates, etc?

If it ain't broke, don't break it! :)
