I have recently found out that my laptop doesn't go well with windows 10. So I did a reinstall thinking that would help, but it didn't. I can't even go back to window 7 even with the recovery CD. All of my Alienware apps are gone, none of my game files were saved, even though I made sure I wanted to save my files. I don't really know how, but I really want to go back to Windows 7 home. Or at least get my WIndows 10 working properly. And if possible, re-download Alienware Command Center.
Hello! First of all I am going to assume you have the m14x original and not the R2? If so it was never validated to work with Windows 10 unfortunately as you seem to have found out, so getting it to work with Windows 10 would be more hassle then its worth. If you have windows 7 dvd's did you not get one that had the OS and one with the drivers? The drivers disc would have all the applications while the OS disc generally just has the OS on it. You can also follow the information in section one here, to download or acquire restore media.
I have both disks, but should I reinstall windows 7 instead of trying to fix windows 10? The main reason that I don't really like windows 10 is because its made my computer's graphic cards not work correctly and give me only 30-60 fps instead of 70-120 fps.
In my OPINION, Windows 10 is still a BETA product. On computers i've ran it on its glitchy and unstable. The drivers for graphics are still getting kinks worked out of them so I would honestly stick with 7. Again its my opinion and I will admit I have a love/hate relationship with Windows 10 but i'm sticking to 7 for now myself.
