I all of a sudden started getting messages about my DRM being corrupt when trying to use Rhapsody music subscription software. That software forced an upgrade to their newest version. That requires upgrading Window Media to version 11 (I am on version 10). When I try to upgrade compnents on Microsoft page, the upgrade button is disabled. I was told it is because my Windows valid license key is corrupt (of illegal copy). 

 

I have to upgrade to Windows Media 11, but can not because of this. Automatic updates continually try and load Genuine Windows Advantage update but it always fails to install. Rhapsody support finally said I had to go back to Dell for advice on gow to get my Windows activation key again. (Microsoft support policy is to pass it back to Dell since OS installed on machine when bought).

 

I have Windows Home Media 2005 ver 5. Windows XP SP2 on Dell Demension 8400.

Where do I start? Can it be accomplished here or do I need a phone call to Dell? Thanks.
