Windows permit expire?

I brought my dell xps13 in America last July. Now i am in China. The laptop was brought in a Microsoft Shop so it must be a legal copy system. However recently, it tells me that the windows permit will expire and let me to activate it, I don't have the secret key now. My laptop service tag is and the express service code is . can you tell me how to activate it or give me the secret key?

I think I got its resolution.

I found Windows Product key using tool provided at following URL. It can read BIOS...http://rweverything.com/download

I used this key to activate windows and I got it activated.

Now question is how key of laptop BIOS got changed... something for Dell Engineers to think about.

    Hello,

Microsoft Windows, as long as it is a legitimate, legal, copy, does not expire.  You may want to check to make sure it's legitimately Windows that is popping up and requesting that information.  I would recommend you run a virus / malware application on the system to check it for other software that you may not want on your system.

The Windows keys are located on a Windows sticker attached to the bottom of most Dell laptops.  The only time you should need that is if you reinstall the operating system.

    Thank you,

    Todd

    Todd,

I have similar problem with my Inspiron 15R - I do not have sticker on back panel of laptop, also I read somewhere that Dell puts product key into BIOS and no one can read it :(

I am stuck as well - as windows will remain activated till 10th April and I have only few days to get it repaired.

I purchased it from US and I will be returning to US in month of June - not sure if I will be able to use my laptop after 10th April.
