Windows XP
I wanted to use my Windows XP CD that was sent to me when I purchased my PC with dell to do some repair. But somehow the CD is SP1 and my current version on the PC is SP2 (probably due to updates) and it won't let me use the CD. I'm having problems with Explorer, so I can't even download. What can I do?

In the step after copying your WXP CD to HD, albeit it does say, “If you get the error”, in the following statement it seems to imply that you cannot use OEM type supplied WXP CD (because it contains updates)?Do you know if this is always the case or it only applies to some previous OEM versions?I was under the impression that present Dell OEM supplied WXP Reinstallation CD is the same as retail version?Message Edited by BELL BOY on 11-10-200604:42 PM
