Word Perfect- reinstall error

I have tried to reinstall the preinstalled Word Perfect software on my father's computer but may have used the CD provided with my similar Dimension 2350 desktop. I then uninstalled the program and reinstalled with the proper CD. The program does seem to install........but when attempting to open the program, a box appears suggesting an error that can be sent to Microsoft if so chosen.  Is there a remedy for this issue?

You don’t mention Windows OS or Works suite version (assuming it is Works?)

What is the error message generated, assuming WordPerfect won’t open?

Alternatively look in Event Viewer & post Application error Source & Event ID values

WordPerfect is a Corel application, it is not a Microsoft application and not part of Windows XP.

It will work with XP and is provided with many Dell PC's instead of MS Works or MS Word.

How did you reinstall Windows XP and subsequently WordPerfect?  If you didn't do a clean install (reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything) there can be problems.

I was reinstalling the Word Perfect program provided by Dell on the Dimension with WindowsXP. I may have used Word Perfect reinstall disk from my Dell computer instead my parent's computer( the program wouldn't open once installed).  So I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it from the Word Perfect reinstall disk provided for that Dimension computer.   The program still does not open. indicating an error.  Is there something amiss?

Is there any other indication other than it wants to send a report to Microsoft?

Rather than trying to start it with the desktop icon, if you go to the Start/Programs and start it from the programs list will it run?

I have reinstalled Windows XP (and reformatted the hard drive) then reinstalled the software including that provided by Dell for Word Perfect. It now comes up and appears to work......I don't know why it was necessary to do all but nothing is lost but time and some frustration. Thank you for your interest.
