I'm having trouble reading things sent to my computer generated on wordpad. Things are either scrambled or missing. I've tranferred them to wordperfect, but the lines for boxes are real thick. Can anybody help?
My Search Advanced for Wordpad shows it in 3 Folders; You normally use C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories It is also in C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 & C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
You could try running SFC , which checks protected System Files for corruption & if found replaces them from reinstall..XP CD . If it prompts for XP CD , hold Shift key while inserting XP CD to stop Auto play. Use Start > Run & type sfc /scannow (space after sfc)
If that doesn't fix problem use Search Advanced (1st 3 boxes ticked) for wordpad & if found it C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 double click on it & will open wordpad then use "File" > "Open" to select the file to try it on. If it works OK you could right click on C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\wordpad.exe select "Copy" then select F:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe file , right click & select "Open .... Folder" , right click on blank area of Window & "Paste" , replacing file.
