XP SP3

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501, AMD64, Athlonx2, with Win XP, SP2.

I see in documentation that «Windows XP SP3 is for x86 editions of Windows XP only. The x64 editions of Windows XP were serviced by Windows Server 2003 SP2».

I'm not sure with all those technical terms: do I need to upgrade to SP3? Any specific version?

    There is no (and there will be no) SP3 for x64 (64-bit) Windows XP.

    If you are not sure if you are running 64- or 32-bit, then ...

    Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

    • If "x64 Edition" is listed under System, you’re running the 64-bit version of Windows XP.

    • If you don’t see "x64 Edition" listed under System, you’re running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.

    The edition of Windows XP you're running is displayed under System near the top of the window.
