XP to Vista

I am planning to purchase a new XPS with Vista installed.  What is the best way to transfer the files and settings from my XP computer to the new one with Vista?  Is there anything I need to do to make this transition as painless as possible?

Put the Vista DVD in the XP PC and let setup run (in Windows), you will get a splash screen, choose "Transfer files and settings from another computer"

Do not boot from the DVD.

Dont go to Vista!!!!  I just bought a new XPS 720 with Vista.  Computer was ridiculously slow.  Reinstalled Vista.  That helped some.  BUt nothing works as well as it did with XP and its soooooo slow its stupid!
