Maximize the value of your investment in your analog KVM switch consoles; future proof against the need for remote out of band access tomorrow, by choosing the Dell DAV2108 or DAV2216, engineered by Avocent, that can be field upgraded to add a remote user. With the Dell DAV2108 and DAV2216 Server Console Switches users gain the flexibility to implement a single digital channel for remote access capability via the Dell Remote Access Key. The digital capabilities of the Server Console Switch are ‘unlocked’ by plugging the Dell Remote Access Key into any one of the USB ports of the rear of the switch. With the Dell Remote Access Key installed, one authenticated digital user can remotely manageany one of the servers connected to the Server Console switch over a TCP/IP network with support for DES, 3DES, AES or 128-bit SSL encryption of both KVM and Virtual Media sessions over a single IP address. With the Remote Access Key, the look-and-feel of the On-Board Web Interface (OBWI) matches the sophistication of the OBWI found on the Dell Remote Console switches. The user is able to manage remote operating system installations, operating system recoveries, BIOS updates or server backups from any location with Internet access. The OBWI is launched directly from the Server Console switch and does not require a software host.
