Material includes printed paper and catalogues, corrugated and box board cardboard materials, and other paper packaging as well as plastic packaging. The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador has passed regulation establishing a funding system for the collection and recycling of designated electronic products. The regulation requires manufacturers to collect a provincial environmental fee for designated electronic devices sold into the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Northwest Territories (NT) passed regulation in August of 2015, establishing a funding system for the collection and recycling of designated electronic products. The regulation requires manufacturers, distributors and retailers to collect an environmental fee for designated electronic devices sold into Northwest Territories.

Under the current law and regulations, the following Dell-branded and third-party products sold into Northwest Territories will be subject to a provincial environmental handling fee (EHF):

To reduce cost and improve efficiency, the Alberta Recycling Management Authority (Alberta Recycling) has been contracted by the Government of the Northwest Territories to administer the revenue portion of the Electronics Recycling Program and will be the main point of contact for distributors.

The Province of Nova Scotia has passed regulation establishing a funding system for the collection and recycling of designated electronic products. New Ontario Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulation Ontario Regulation 522/20 made under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 filed on September 21, 2020 came into force on January 1, 2021. The Regulation enacts Individual Producer Responsibility, Dell has reviewed the regulation and internalized the cost, no environmental handling fee (Eco Fee) will be passed to the consumer of Dell branded or third-party products sold into Ontario.

EEE includes all components, parts, or peripherals, including batteries that are provided with the equipment to the customer.

Ontario introduced Packaging Regulation that obligates brand owners and first importers to report amounts sold to Ontario and remit payment for their safe recycling and disposal. Material includes printed paper and catalogues, corrugated and box board cardboard materials, and other paper packaging as well as plastic packaging. Brand owners are responsible for payment of these materials. Consumers are not being charged related fees. Materials are collected in residential Blue Box Program. The Province of Prince Edward Island has passed regulation establishing a funding system for the collection and recycling of designated electronic products. The Quebec Regulation “respecting the recovery and reclamation of products by enterprises” was introduced on July 14, 2011 and came into effect July 14, 2012. To enable compliance with the regulations, Dell Canada Inc. has joined EPRA QC or ARPE QC, an approved industry collective program that is managing the responsible recycling of electronics in that province. Under the current regulation, the following products sold into Quebec must be reported to EPRA QC:

• Desktop computers (CPU)
• All-in-one computers
• Laptops/netbooks
• Display devices up to 29" 
• Display devices 30" - 45"
• Display devices 46" and up 
• Desktop printers/printer combos
• Floor standing IT Equipment (includes Printers, Copier, Servers, and Routers up to 120kg)
• Peripherals (mouse, keyboard etc.)
• Non-Cellular telephones and telephone answering machines
• Cellular devices
• Personal/portable image, audio, and video devices
• Home/non-portable audio and video players/Home theatre in a box (HTB)

The sale of these products triggers an environmental handling fee (eco fee) that is commonly passed to the consumer for payment. Dell Canada Inc. has analyzed the Quebec regulations and determined that the best course of action for our customers and the environment is to pay the fees ourselves, and not to pass along these fees to our retail partners or customers. Dell will instead remit the fees directly to EPRA QC.

Saskatchewan has passed regulation establishing the collection and recycling of designated electronic products. The regulation requires manufacturers such as Dell Canada Inc. ("Dell") to collect a provincial environmental fee for certain electronic devices sold into the Province of Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan introduced packaging regulations under the Household Packaging and Paper Stewardship Program Regulations in February of 2013. The regulation obligates brand owners and first importers to report amounts sold to Saskatchewan and remit payment for their safe recycling and disposal. Material includes printed paper and catalogues, corrugated and box board cardboard materials, and other paper packaging as well as plastic packaging. Brand owners are responsible for payment of these materials. Consumers are not being charged related fees. Details can be found here: www.multimaterialsw.ca.

The Rules applies to every manufacturer, producer, refurbisher and recycler involved in manufacture, sale, purchase, collection, storage and processing of electrical and electronic equipments listed in Schedule I.

The Rules places responsibilities on Producer: (1) registration on the portal and obtain EPR Authorization; (2) implementing extended producer responsibility targets as per Schedule-III and Schedule-IV; (3) creating awareness through media, publications, advertisements, posters or by any other means of communication; (4) file annual and quarterly returns on the portal. 

The producer shall fulfill their extended producer responsibility through online purchase of extended producer responsibility certificate from registered recyclers only and submit it online by filing quarterly and annual return.

What does this mean for our customers? 

The Rules places responsibilities on bulk consumers of electrical and electronic equipment listed in Schedule I to ensure that e-waste generated by them shall be handed over only to the registered producer, refurbisher or recycler.

Bulk Consumer (commercial customers) may utilize Dell’s Asset Recovery Services.

Vietnam - The Decision is in force as of 15 July 2015. The Decision provides regulations on collection and treatment of discarded products within the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Decision shall apply to manufacturers, consumers and other organizations or individuals involved in take-back and treatment of discarded products in Vietnam.

The Decision requires manufacturing enterprises including official importers, official distributors and primary distributors to takeback discarded products i.e. receive and collect discarded products for management and treatment in accordance with legal requirements. The Decision allows manufacturing enterprises and distributors to set up Collection points and receive discarded products at their own location as requested by the manufacturing enterprises. The Decision also prescribes further responsibilities which can be downloaded here.

According to the Decision, the consumers have responsibilities to ensure to return the discarded products to Collection points provided by the manufacturers and they have the rights to request manufacturers to receive their discarded products.

Consumers can drop off discarded product at the below located Basic Collection Points:

Our consumer customers will be able to return their obsolete IT products to Dell, in accordance with our producer responsibility policy.

Směrnice o elektrických a elektronických zařízeních (směrnice o elektrotechnickém a elektronickém odpadu) proběhla v České republice dne 6. ledna 2005. Směrnice o OEEZ má za cíl:

• Snižte množství odpadu z elektrických a elektronických zařízení.
• Zlepšit environmentální výkon všech účastníků životního cyklu elektrických a elektronických zařízení.

Co znamená OEEZ pro soukromé domácnosti?
Soukromí majitelé domácností budou moci své OEEZ vrátit bezplatně do sběrných zařízení. Výrobci (výrobci, prodejci, distributoři) budou zodpovědní za financování sběru, zpracování, využití a likvidace OEEZ ze soukromých domácností uložených v těchto sběrných zařízeních.

Spotřebitelé mají odpovědnost za to, že umožňují opětovné použití a využití odpadních elektrických a elektronických zařízení a likvidují odpadní elektrická a elektronická zařízení na vhodném sběrném místě pro recyklaci. Spotřebitelé nemohou vyřazovat odpadní elektrická a elektronická zařízení spolu s jiným odpadem. Ponechání odpadu elektrických a elektronických zařízení v místě sběru je zdarma.

Vyřazení tohoto typu zařízení na místě, které nebylo navrženo (např. Vyhazování do odpadu, expozice nebo opuštění), může mít negativní dopad na životní prostředí a lidské zdraví. Spotřebitel je potrestán pokutou.

Symbol přeškrtnutého odpadu na kolovém boku na výrobku nebo na jeho obalu znamená, že tento výrobek nesmí být likvidován s vaším domovním odpadem.

Je vaší povinností zlikvidovat vaše odpadní zařízení předáním do autorizovaného sběrného místa pro recyklaci odpadních elektrických a elektronických zařízení.

Am 24. Oktober 2015 trat das sogenannte ElektoG2 in Kraft.Es setzt die EU Richtlinien 2002/95/EG1, 2002/96/EG2 und 2012/19/EU um.

Elektroaltgeräte dürfen nicht im Hausmüll entsorgt werden. Das wird durch das Symbol der durchgestrichenen Mülltonne signalisiert. Privatkunden können ihre Altgeräte bei den kommunalen Entsorgungsstellen abgeben. Die Dell GmbH bei der Stiftung „Elektroaltgeräte-Register (EAR)" registriert und meldet das Verkaufsvolumen. Dem entsprechend erhält die

Was bedeutet WEEE für private Haushalte? Privatkunden können ihre Altgeräte bei den kommunalen Entsorgungsstellen abgeben. Die Hersteller (Händler, Importeure) haben die Verantwortung für die Finanzierung der Kosten für die Rücknahme, umweltgerechte Behandlung, Verwertung und Entsorgung von Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräten, die bei den kommunalen Entsorgungsstellen abgegeben werden. La Directiva WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Directive) ha sido transpuesta al ordenamiento jurídico español el 25 de Febrero del 2005, R.D 208/2005 sobre aparatos eléctricos y electrónicos y la gestión de sus residuos (RAEE).

Los objetivos de la Directiva WEEE son:

• Reducir los residuos generados por el equipamiento eléctrico y electrónico
• PMejorar el comportamiento desde un punto de vista medioambiental de todos los agentes económicos implicados en el ciclo de vida de los equipos eléctricos y electrónicos.

¿Que implica esta legislación RAEE para los usuarios domésticos?

Podrán entregar y depositar, de manera totalmente gratuita, cualquier equipo eléctrico o electrónico al final de su vida útil en el punto municipal más cercano a su domicilio, puntos limpios. Los agentes económicos implicados en la generación de dichos residuos (fabricantes, vendedores y distribuidores) serán responsables de la financiación necesaria para la gestión de dichos residuos depositados en los puntos limpios municipales. Le consommateur paie également depuis le 15 novembre 2006 une contribution environnementale pour chaque nouvel équipement électrique et électronique qui correspond au coût de collecte et recyclage des matériels. What does WEEE mean for Private Households? Consumers have a responsibility for enabling the re-use and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment and to dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment at a proper collection point for recycling. Consumers cannot discard waste electrical and electronic equipment together with other waste. Leaving waste electrical and electronic equipment at the point of collection is free.
For discarding this type of equipment in a place not designed (e.g. Thrown in the trash, exposure or abandonment) can have a negative impact on the environment and human health. The consumer is punishable with a fine.

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product must not be disposed of with your other household waste.

It’s your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to an authorized collection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Gli utenti privati potranno restituire gratuitamente i propri RAEE ai punti di raccolta . I Produttori (costruttori, rivenditori, distributori) saranno responsabili del finanziamento della raccolta, trattamento, recupero e smaltimento dei RAEE derivanti dagli utenti domestici ai centri di raccolta. Dell adempirà agli obblighi di legge in Italia tramite il Consorzio Erion. Il Consorzio Erion è un sistema collettivo autorizzato. www.erion.it

Op 14 februari 2014 is de nieuwe “Regeling elektrische en elektronische apparatuur” van kracht geworden, die uitvoering geeft aan de Europese richtlijn nr. 2012/19/EU.In deze regeling is het afvalbeheer van elektrische en elektronische apparatuur geregeld.

De nadruk bij deze wetgeving ligt op het vermeiden van het ontstaan van elektrisch en elektronisch afval. Waar mogelijk dient hergebruik, recycling en de terugwinning van energie te worden nagestreefd om afval te reduceren.

Een tweede doel is het verbeteren van het milieugedrag van iedereen die een rol speelt in de levenscyclus van elektrische en elektronische produkten: bij het ontwikkellingsproces, het gebruik en bij de uiteindelijke verwerking van het product in de afvalfase.

Wat gebeurt er met de ingezamelde apparatuur?

Door producenten in het leven geroepen stichtingen financieren het transport en de verwerking. Ingezamelde apparatuur wordt vanaf de gemeentelijke milieustraten naar gecertificeerde verwerkers vervoerd, waar op een milieuvriendelijke manier ontmanteling van de de ingezamelde apparatuur plaatsvindt. Herbruikbare materialen worden gesorteerd aan de grondstoffenindustrie aangeleverd voor verdere verwerking. Niet-herbruikbare materialen worden op een, vanuit milieu oogpunt, acceptable manier verbrand of gestort.
Dell voldoet aan de verplichtingen die zijn vastgelegd in het decreet van elektrische en elektronische apparatuur door het lidmaatschap van de bovenstaande stichtingen – www.stichting-open.org (Stichting OPEN).

Wat betekent dit voor de consument?

Bij het aanschaffen van een nieuw elektronisch apparaat, kan uw oude apparaat gratis worden geretourneerd met de volgende opties:

• bestellingsbevestiging voor een indicatie van de verwachte leverdatum. Volg onderstaande link om uw recyclingverzoek te voltooien.
• Enkele dagen na levering: Nadat u uw bestelling heeft ontvangen, volgt u de onderstaande link om uw recyclingverzoek te voltooien.
• Voor levering: Zodra uw bestelling is geplaatst, kunt u solliciteren om uw oude apparaat op te halen door onderstaande link te volgen. Gebruik uw bestelnummers als bevestiging om uw recyclingverzoek te voltooien.
• Opmerking: Kleine bedrijven kunnen hun afval elektrische en elektronische apparatuur verstrekken, op voorwaarde dat zij soortgelijk zijn in aard en hoeveelheid met die van particuliere huishoudens, ook op de bovenstaande manieren

Forskrift om kasserte elektriske og elektroniske produkter (EE-forskriften) trådte i kraft i 1999.

Formålet med EE-forskriften er å redusere de miljøproblemer EE-produkter forårsaker når de ender som avfall. Dette skal skje gjennom separat innsamling, utsortering og behandling av materialer og komponenter som er farlig avfall, og høy grad av gjenvinning av øvrige deler av avfallet. Bestemmelsene skal sikre at slikt avfall gjenvinnes der det etter en avveining av miljøhensyn, ressurshensyn og økonomiske forhold er berettiget

Hvordan påvirker EE-forskriften private husholdninger? Private husholdninger har muligheten til å returnere sitt EE-avfall til oppsamlingspunkter vederlagsfritt. Produsentene er ansvarlig for å finansiere innsamling, sortering, ombruk, gjenvinning, disponering og annen behandling av EE-avfall fra private husholdninger deponert ved disse oppsamlingspunktene. Dell løser sitt produsentansvar ovenfor EE-forskriften gjennom medlemskap i returselskapet Eurovironment AS. Eurovironment er godkjent av Statens Forurensingstilsyn(Sft). 1) Sinn und Zweck der getrennten Sammlung von Elektro- und Elektronikaltgeräten und Nachteile der Beseitigung gemeinsam mit unsortierten Siedlungsabfällen

Innerhalb der EU fallen jährlich mehr und mehr Elektro- und Elektroaltgeräte an. All diese Geräte enthalten eine Reihe von gefährlichen Bestandteilen, die ein großes Problem bei der Abfallentsorgung darstellen. Im Verhältnis zur steigenden Menge werden allerdings immer weniger Geräte einer ordnungsgemäßen Entsorgung zugeführt. Eine vom normalen Siedlungsabfall getrennte Sammlung ist Vorraussetzung für eine spezielle Behandlung und ein entsprechendes Recycling von Elektroaltgeräten. Diese beiden Maßnahmen sind erforderlich, da sich in vielen Elektroaltgeräten Bestandteile befinden, die ohne fachgerechte Verwertung umweltschädigend sein können. Bei einer gemeinsamen Beseitigung mit unsortiertem Siedlungsabfall könnten Schadstoffe in den Abfallstrom gelangen. Die Folge wäre eine erhebliche Belastung der Umwelt.

2) Welche Rückgabe- und Sammelmöglichkeiten stehen den Letztverbrauchern zur Verfügung

Jeder Endverbraucher (Konsument) kann seine Elektroaltgeräte kostenlos bei den kommunalen Sammelstellen sowie den Sammelstellen der Systembetreiber abgeben. Weitere Informationen, über die nächstgelegene Sammelstelle können die Konsumenten auf der Homepage des ERP.

3)Sinnhaftigkeit der Wiederverwendung, der stofflichen Verwertung und anderer Formen der Verwertung von Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräten

In Elektroaltgeräten sind zahlreiche wertvolle Rohstoffe wie zum Beispiel Eisen, Aluminium oder Kupfer enthalten, die im Sinne einer sparsamen Ausschöpfung der natürlichen Ressourcen wieder verwendet werden sollten. Die österreichischen Hersteller / Importeure nehmen ihre Verantwortung wahr, indem sie die Konzeption und Produktion von Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten forcieren, deren Reparatur, mögliche Nachrüstung, Wiederverwendung, Zerlegung und Recycling zunehmend einfacher ist und helfen dadurch mit, die Umweltbelastung möglichst gering zu halten

4) Potentielle Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt und die menschliche Gesundheit, die durch das Vorhandensein von gefährlichen Stoffen in Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten bedingt sind

Besonders wichtig ist die fach- und umweitgerechte Entsorgung von Schadstoffen wie z.B. Blei, Quecksilber oder Kadmium, die in vielen Elektroaltgeräten enthalten sind. Diese Stoffe benötigen eine spezielle Behandlung, da sie im Fall einer unsachgemäßen Beseitigung kurz- und langfristig negative Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt und menschliche Gesundheit haben können. Die österreichischen Hersteller / Importeure stellen unter anderen ausführliche Informationen über die in den Elektroaltgeräten enthaltenen Bauteile und Werkstoffe zur Verfügung. Dadurch leisten sie einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Erleichterung der Entsorgung bzw. helfen sie mit, die Gefährdung der Umwelt und der menschlichen Gesundheit zu minimieren.

5) Was hat es mit der Mülltonne auf sich?

Die durchgestrichene Mülltonne auf Rädern ist das Symbol für die getrennte Sammlung. Alle Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte, die nach dem 12. August 2005 in Verkehr gebracht werden, müssen damit gekennzeichnet sein. Dies erleichtert die getrennte Sammlung bzw. Aussortierung aus dem Siedlungsabfall. Üblicherweise ist die durchgestrichene Mülltonne direkt am Produkt angebracht. In Ausnahmefällen, sofern dies aufgrund der Größe oder der Funktion des Produktes notwendig ist, muss das Symbol auf der Verpackung, der Gebrauchsanweisung oder dem Garantieschein aufgedruckt sein.

Celem dyrektywy WEEE jest:

• Zmniejszenie zanieczyszczenia spowodowanego sprzętem elektrycznym i elektronicznym.
• Zwiększenie dbałości o środowisko ze strony wszystkich osób uczestniczących w cyklu eksploatacyjnym sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego.

Jakie są konsekwencje dyrektywy WEEE dla gospodarstw domowych?

Gospodarstwa domowe spełniają ważną rolę wprzyczynianiu się do ponownego użycia i odzysku, w tym recyklingu, zużytego sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego poprzez przekazanie sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego do odpowiednich punktów zbiórki odpadów, recyklingu. Konsumenci nie mogą wyrzucać zużytego sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego wraz z innymi odpadami. Pozostawienie zużytego sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego w punkcie zbiórki jest bezpłatne.Za wyrzucenie tego typu sprzętu w miejscu do tego nieprzeznaczonym (np. wyrzucnie do kosza na śmieci, bądź porzucenie na nielegalnym wysypisku) może mieć negatywny wpływ na środowisko i zdrowie ludzi. Konsument może zostać również ukarany grzywną. 

Symbol przekreślonego kontenera na kółkach na produkcie lub jego opakowaniu oznacza, że tego produktu nie należy wyrzucać razem z innymi odpadami domowymi.
Konsumenci mają obowiązek pozbywać się zużytego sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego przez przekazanie go do autoryzowanego punktu zbiórki w celu recyklingu.

A Directiva WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Directive) foi transposto a requisitar legalmente em 10 de Dezembro de 2004, Decreto- Lei 230/2004 gestao dos resíduos de equipamentos eléctricos e electrónicos (REEE).

Os objetivos da Directiva WEEE são:

• Reduzir os resíduos gerados por equipamentos eléctricos e electrónicos.
• Melhorar o comportamento desde um ponto de vista medioambiental de todos os agentes económicos implicados no ciclo de vida dos equipos eléctricos e electrónicos.

Que implica esta legislação REEE para os usuários domésticos?
Poderão entregar e depositar, de maneira totalmente gratuita, qualquer equipamento eléctrico ou electrónico no final da sua vida útil num ponto municipal mais próximo da sua morada , pontos de limpeza municipal. Os agentes económicos implicado na geração destes restantes residuos (fabricantes, vendedores e distribuidores) serão responsaveís do financiamento necessário para a gerência destes residuos que serão depositados nos pontos de limpeza municipal. Dell mantêm seu compromisso no cumprimento da Directiva WEEE em Portugal atravês da sua adesão ao sistema de gerência ERP Portugal.

Smernica o OEEZ (smernica o odpadoch z elektrických a elektronických zariadení) vstúpila na Slovensko dňa 2. decembra 2004. Cieľom smernice o OEEZ je:

• Znížte množstvo odpadu z elektrických a elektronických zariadení.
• Zlepšiť environmentálny výkon všetkých účastníkov životného cyklu elektrických a elektronických zariadení.
  Čo znamená OEEZ pre súkromné domácnosti? Súkromní majitelia domov budú môcť bezplatne vrátiť svoje zberné zariadenia do zberných zariadení Výrobcovia (výrobcovia, predajcovia, distribútori) budú zodpovední za financovanie zberu, spracovania, zhodnocovania a zneškodňovania OEEZ z domácností uložených v týchto zberných zariadeniach.

Spotrebitelia sú zodpovední za to, aby umožnili opätovné použitie a zhodnocovanie odpadu z elektrických a elektronických zariadení a aby likvidovali odpadové elektrické a elektronické zariadenia na vhodnom zbernom mieste na recykláciu. Spotrebitelia nemôžu zlikvidovať odpadové elektrické a elektronické zariadenia spolu s iným odpadom. Ponechanie odpadu z elektrických a elektronických zariadení na mieste zberu je bezplatné.

Vyradenie tohto typu zariadení na miesto, ktoré nie je navrhnuté (napr. Uvrhnutie do koša, expozícia alebo opustenie), môže mať negatívny vplyv na životné prostredie a ľudské zdravie. Spotrebiteľovi sa ukladá pokuta.

Symbol prečiarknutého koša na výrobku alebo na jeho obale znamená, že tento výrobok nesmie byť likvidovaný s vaším domácim odpadom.

Je vašou zodpovednosťou zlikvidovať svoje odpadové zariadenie odovzdaním do autorizovaného zberného miesta na recykláciu odpadu z elektrických a elektronických zariadení.

Atık Elektrikli ve Elektronik Eşyaların Kontrolü (AEEE) Yönetmeliğinin denetimi, Türkiye’de 25 Mayıs 2013 tarihinden itibaren zorunlu hale getirilmiştir.
AEEE Direktifinin amacı:

• AEEE’lerin ayrıştırılmamış belediye atıkları ile imha edilmesi oranını minimize etmek, işleme, geri kazanım ve çevreye uyumlu bertarafını sağlamak için AEEE’lerin toplanma miktarını artırmak.
• Yaşam döngüsüne katılan bütün Elektrikli ve Elektronik Eşyaların (EEE) çevresel performanslarını iyileştirmek.

Bazı EEE’ler çevreye, insan sağlığına zarar verebilen maddeler içermektedir. Bu cihazlar çevreye uygun bir şekilde tasfiye edilmelidir. Atık Elektrikli ve Elektronik Eşyaların Kontrolü Yönetmeliği EEE’lerin uygun bir şekilde işlemeye tabii tutulmasını sağlar.

AEEE nihai tüketiciler için ne anlam ifade eder? Nihai tüketiciler, AEEE’lerini toplama tesislerine ücretsiz geri götürebilir ve AEEE’lerin yeniden kullanımında ve geri dönüşümünde rol oynayabilirler.

Ürün ya da paketin üzerinde, üstü çizili bulunan çöp konteynır sembolü, bu ürünün diğer ev atıklarınız ile birlikle atılmaması gerektiğini belirtmektedir.



Nihai tüketiciler, AEEE’lerin yeniden kullanımı, geri kazanımı ve geri dönüşümü için uygun bir toplama noktasına teslim edilmesinden sorumludur. Tüketiciler, atık elektrikli ve elektronik cihazları diğer atıklar ile birlikte atamazlar.

AEEE’leri toplama noktasına bırakmak ücretsizdir.
Bu türdeki bir cihazın belirlenmeyen bir yere (çöpe atma, ortaya koyma ya da bırakma gibi) atılması çevreye ve insan sağlığına olumsuz etki verebilir. Tüketici para cezası ile cezalandırılabilir.

Üreticiler (imalatçılar, satıcılar, dağıtıcılar, ithalatçılar) toplama organizasyonlarını finanse etmekle, eğitimsel çalışmaları düzenlemekle ve AEEE hakkında farkındalığı arttıracak etkinlikler düzenlemekle, geri dönüşüm ve toplama tesislerine nihai tüketiciler tarafından toplanan AEEE’lerin nakliye işlemlerinden sorumlu olacaklardır. Dell, Türkiye’de “AEEE Kontrolü Yönetmeliğinin” gerektirdiği yükümlülüklerini TÜBİSAD Yetkilendirilmiş Kuruluş’a üye olarak; nihai tüketicilerden evsel kaynaklı AEEE toplanması, nakliyesi, yeniden kullanımı ve geri dönüşümü için Tüketici Geri Dönüşüm programı sağlayarak yerine getirmektedir.

The WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Directive) commenced in the UK on 1st July 2007. The WEEE Directive aims to:-

• Minimise the disposal of WEEE as unsorted municipal waste and achieve a high level of collection of WEEE for treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal.
• Improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment.

Some EEE can contain substances which are potentially hazardous to the environment and human health and must be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. The WEEE directive ensures that the appropriate treatment is available for such EEE.

What does WEEE mean for Private Households? Private householders will be able to return their WEEE to collection facilities free of charge and play their part towards the reuse and recycling of WEEE.

Producers (manufacturers, sellers, distributors) will be responsible for financing the collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of WEEE from private households deposited at these collection facilities. Producers who sell through distance selling methods such as internet and telephone are required to join the national distributor take back scheme or provide an alternative method for private householders to return equipment.

Dell will meet its obligation to the WEEE Directive in the UK through membership of a Government approved Producer Compliance Scheme, European Recycling Platform (ERP) and through providing private customers with its Consumer Recycling programme for the collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of WEEE.
