Welcome to the Restore to Original Factory Installation with DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 Tutorial.
To launch DSL 2.0, click Windows button. All Programs. Dell DataSafe. Dell DataSafe local backup. Click Restore. You will see the restore options available.
Restore your entire system to a previous date or to the factory state. Restore specific drivers and utilities. Restore specific files or folders from a full system backup. Restore specific files or folders from a file and folder backup.
The last two options are available only on the premium version. To restore system to the factory state, click on the first option. Select Factory Image, which will revert the system to factory defaults. And click Next to continue. Please be aware on data loss. Also, note that this process might take an hour or more depending on the size of the system backup. Click Restart to initiate the process.
The system will now restart. Select restore without preserving new or changed files, which will take you directly to the restoration process. Then click Next. Pay attention to the warning message. Select Yes. Continue. Then click Next. Restoration will now start.
This process may take a while. Please also do not turn off your machine during this process. When the restoration completes, click on Restart. Once reboot, the system will be back to factory state. That concludes the tutorial.
