Hi, my name is Jonah, I work with Dell Technologies and today I'm going to show you how to run SDDC from PowerShell and from Windows Admin Center. To start off we just need to copy this string here, we need to run it from a Windows Admin PowerShell and we just right click and paste, and then we press enter. What it's going to do is it's going to first check to see if SDDC is installed on the nodes, and if it is it's going to remove it.
Then it will download the newest version, install that and then proceed to actually gather the SDDC data. It usually doesn't take too long, five to seven minutes or so depending on how many nodes are actually in the cluster. It can take longer but usually it's it's around seven minutes. All right, and it's done.
As you can see it took not quite seven minutes, about six minutes 51 seconds. When it's done it's going to output the file here under c:\users the user account and then there's our there's our file right there.
This one is around 46 megabytes, normally they can run anywhere from 150 to 300. I've seen one as large as one gig, just really depends on how much data it has to gather and how many nodes are actually in the cluster itself. So once you've got that file just upload it to upload.dell.com and we can review it.
Next we're going to show you how to do this in Windows Admin Center, so I'm going to switch over to that box. All right I've gone ahead and installed Windows Admin Center and I've got our cluster already in here as well, just going to click on that and we're going to let it populate its data. Next we're going to click on 'Diagnostics' and it's going to pop a little message up that says you need to enable CredSSP, so we're just go ahead and click yes.
And now that we've enabled SSP we're going to click on the 'Collect' button. It's going to run our SDDC, and that's really all you need to do. It'll take another five to seven minutes depending, but when it's done we'll, uh we'll go down to the little drop down down there and we'll choose our zip file. All right, it's done now.
If we come over here to the diagnostic archives you can choose which one you actually want to download. Usually the latest one is the one that you want and just click download zip. Last thing we're going to do is come over here to Server Manager, we're going to click on the node that we enabled CredSSP on and we're going to click 'Disable CredSSP'. You could leave it enabled but it's not recommended.
It's just recommended to have it turned off when you're not utilizing it, and that's it that's all we need to do to get Windows to get SDDC from Windows Admin Center. Hope you guys enjoyed the video, thanks.
