Keeping your computer and drivers up to date is key to your system’s performance and security. Here’s how to get your Dell computer's latest Windows updates and device drivers.
Chapter 01: Windows Update
To check for a Windows Update, click the Windows Start button and go to ‘Settings’. Click on the Windows Update tab, then select ‘Check for updates’. If there are updates available, follow the instructions to install them. If you see the ‘Restart now’ button, this means Windows has already searched for pending updates, and only requires a restart to complete the installation. Chapter 02: Update Drivers with SupportAssist
It’s easy to get the latest driver updates with SupportAssist. Click the Windows start button to search for and open ‘SupportAssist’. Scroll down, and under the ‘Drivers and Downloads’ tile, click on ‘Run’. If there are available driver updates, select ‘Update’. You will then see a list of all available driver updates. Click on ‘Install’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
