Tutorial on System Restore When You Can't Start Windows 7

This video explains how to perform a System Restore on a computer that is unable to load Windows 7 due to a recent software installation. By tapping the F8 key during startup, users can access the Advanced Boot Options menu and select "Repair Your Computer." From there, they can choose System Restore and select a restore point to fix the issue. It is important to not interrupt the process and wait for the computer to restart.

If Windows 7 does not load on your computer due to a recent software installation, You may perform System Restore without booting into Windows.

Switch on your computer and tap the F8 key to enter the Advanced Boot Options menu. Use the arrow keys to select Repair Your Computer, and hit Enter.

Now Windows will load files required to repair your computer. Select your language and keyboard input method, and click Next. Select your User name from the drop down menu and enter the Password (if you had set one) and click OK.

In the System Recovery Options window, select System Restore. Click Next on the System Restore Window.

In this window the latest restore point will be selected by default. You may select this restore point, or select the check box to Show more restore points.

You may now choose from a range of restore points. Select the desired one, and click Next. Click Finish on the Restore Point confirmation window.

If you are using a portable, and show that you connect the AC adapter, Do not turn off the computer or interrupt the system restore process.

Click Yes to start. Click Restart on the System Restore Confirmation window. The computer restarts and you may now log into Windows.
