To install tape device driver files during the Backup Exec installation:
1. Extract the downloaded file to a temporary directory. This file is a
self-extracting archive. Executing it will prompt for a location in
which to extract the contents of the file.
2. Double-click the BackupExecTapeDeviceDriverInstall.exe file in the extracted folder to start the installation process.
3. When prompted to select components to install, select "Update Tape
Device Drivers". If a robotic library is connected to the computer, also
select "Update Robotic Library Drivers".
4. Click Next.
5. When the "Device Driver Installer" wizard appears, follow the
instructions on screen.
After successfully installing the tape device drivers, Intelligent
Disaster Recovery (IDR) must be updated if installed. To update IDR,
follow these steps:
1. In the \Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT* directory, rename
DRPrepWizard.EXE to DRPrepWizard.HF7.
2. Navigate to the appropriate folder in the extracted file. For
example, patch files for an English installation of Backup Exec are
located in the ENG directory.
3. Copy the extracted DRPrepWizard.EXE file from the extracted hotfix
directory to the \Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT* directory.
*Default directory created during the installation of Backup Exec for
Windows Servers. If modified during install, directory may be different.
