Dell Inspiron Desktop 531s System BIOS, Inspiron Desktop 531 System BIOS, 1.0.3

The file 531_103_Win.exe is using the Hard Drive format and is designed to be directly executed from Windows environments.

1. Click Download now.
   The File Download window appears.

   
   
   

2. Click the Save button.
   The Save As window appears.

   
   

3. Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.

   
   

4. Click the Save button.
   A progress meter moves as the download is completed.

   
   

5. If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.

   
   

6. Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control on or off
   
   Uncheck Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer then click OK.











NOTE:

Shut down all other applications prior to running the BIOS update utility. The update utility reboots your system in order to get the new BIOS loaded.








7. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled 531_103_Win.exe.
   
   The Winflash window appears





8. Click the Yes button.
   
   The message Please close all open applications! appears.




9. Click the OK button.
   
   The BIOS flash will be proceeded and after it is completed system will restart.












NOTE:

After finished the BIOS update, follow the below instruction to turn the UAC on as the default setting in Windows Vista.








10. Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control on or off
    
    Check Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer then click OK.
