HGST Jaguar C Series Hard Disk Firmware Update

WARNING: As with all firmware updates, it is strongly recommended that you backup or make copies of all important files before performing this update. This firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk. If performed correctly, there will be no loss of system or user data on the drive. However, if the firmware process is interrupted for any reason, your hard disk drive may not function properly.

Download

1. Click Download File and follow the remaining prompts to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Run to unzip the download package into your hard drive.
3. The file explorer will open pointing to the directory containing the download package. Please take note of the path.

ATTENTION
1. Backup the Hard Disk Drive(HDD).
2. Switch to AC Power.

Firmware upgrade through the Windows utility

Procedure
1. Go to the directory containing the download package as noted above.
2. Run "WD_Update_JB0DB490-3.exe" with administrator privilege (right-click on the executable, then select "Run as administrator").
3. Utility will prompt "Enter your drive selection(s):"
4. Key in "ALL" or "all" to proceed to update firmware.
5. DO NOT interrupt the firmware update.
6. Utility will show the status of the process in summary.
