Dell Networking OS6 License tool

A customer attempts to install OS6 on a Dell N2200/N3200 that was shipped with no OS installed.
- The N2200/N3200 switches has two SKU's
- OS6 SKU, No license is needed since the switch comes with OS6 pre-installed
- NON-OS SKU, If you are going to install OS6 on this sku, you need OS6 License. Without an OS6 License the system will not boot into OS6

Solution
Purchase OS6 License and Download from Dell Digital Locker (DLL)
Those customers with NO OS and who want to install OS6 have to buy a license via APOS. Once purchased, this license file is obtained from DDL upon the purchase of OS6 APOS Software SKU. Once purchased, to obtain the license
- Sign in to DDL using your account credentials.
- Locate the hardware product name with the entitlement ID and order number.
- Check that the device service tag displays in the Assigned To field on the Products page
- Click Key Available for Download
- Select how to receive the license key, by email or downloaded to your local device
- Click Submit.
- Save the License.zip file.

Install the License Tool into ONIE on the N Series Switch
Once the license has been obtained from Dell Digital Locker follow the procedures documented in the 6.6.2.0 firmware release notes to install the license on the switch via ONIE. This procedure requires a special License Install tool. Currently, this tool is not bundled with ONIE and must be downloaded from the Support.Dell.com webpage for the switches. In future releases, the License Intall tool will be bundled with ONIE.
Obtain the license tool installer
1. Go to https://www.dell.com/support and navigate to your product page.
2. On the product page, click the Drivers & Downloads tab.
3. Click the Download button next to ONIE License Tool to download the license tool installer.
4. Extract the downloaded .Zip file which contains the license_install.run file

Install OS6 license
These instructions are taken from the Release Notes for the respective systems.
1. (Optional) The license tool is not available by default on the system. To verify if the license tool is present on ONIE, boot into the ONIE Rescue mode and use the following command:
ONIE:/ # license
/bin/sh: license: not found
2. Assign an IP address to an interface and the default gateway.
ONIE:/ # ifconfig eth0
ONIE:/ # route add default gw
3. Copy the license tool installer to the switch.
ONIE:/ # scp file-path/license_install.run .
4. Copy the license file to the switch.
ONIE:/ # scp file-path/D80GXC2-NOSOS6-License.XML .
5. Provide executable permission to the license tool installer.
ONIE:/ # chmod +x license_install.run
6. Install the license tool in ONIE Rescue mode
ONIE:/ # ./license_install.run
/dev/console

7. Install the OS6 license in ONIE Rescue mode.
