Installing a language package by using FTP server: 1. Download the language package and extract the files. If the extracted file is a TAR Archive file (.TGZ), then extract the files again. 2. Place the language files (.msg) to C:\inetpub\ftproot\WYSE\wnos\locale on your FTP server. 3. Create a wnos.ini text file (using a text editor) in the C:\inetpub\ftproot\WYSE\wnos folder with the following INI parameters: Locale= load=yes Localelist= Use the LocaleList INI parameter if you want to switch the system language as needed. For Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, and Korean localization, a font file must be placed in the folder wnos/font. 4. Save the wnos.ini file. 5. To locate the ftp File Servers/Path from Dell Wyse thin clients, do the following: 5.1. On the ThinOS client desktop, navigate to System Setup > Central Configuration > General. 5.2. In the General tab, enter the IP address of the FTP server or directory, username and password. If FTP server supports Anonymous, enter the username as Anonymous, and enter the pre-configured password. You can also leave the username and password fields blank. 5.3. Click OK. 6. Restart the thin client. 7. Go to System Preferences > General > Locale and select a language to be activated for the user login-experience.
Installing a language package by using Wyse Management Suite: 1. Download the MSG language file to a desired location or the Wyse Management Suite server. For Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, and Korean localization, a font file is required. 2. Log in to Wyse Management Suite and navigate to the Apps and Data page. 3. Click Inventory under File Repository. 4. Click File and browse the language file. Provide an appropriate description, file type as Locale, and click Upload. Note: Repeat this step if you need a font file. Provide file type as Font. 5. To update Group of devices, do the following: 5.1. Click Groups & Configs and select the group where the device is present. 5.2. Click Edit Policy-->ThinOS-->Advanced Configurations. 5.3. Click General Settings (8.5+)->Configure this item. 5.4. Configure the Locale Settings. 5.5. Click Save & Publish. 6. To update a single device, do the following: 6.1. Go to the Devices page and click your preferred device. 6.2. On the Device Details page, click Create/ Edit Exceptions. 6.3. Click General Settings (8.5+) ->Configure this item. 5.4. Configure the Locale Settings. 5.5. Click Save & Publish. 7. Restart the thin client.
