Fixes
-BIOS takes a long time to handle correctable memory errors.
-For certain PCIe slots, manual slot bifurcation may not work.
-PCIe fatal error may be reported when a particular Network Daughter Card (NDC) is installed.
-Rarely, the system may stop at POST (Power-On-Self-Test) when running reboot test in the BIOS boot mode.
-Several NVMe-related defects.
-Corrected an issue where, with a large number of network partitions enabled, the network interface names are displayed incorrectly.
-Resolved an Intel Management Engine related issue that caused the BIOS version update to fail (fails only when the server was turned on continuously for 24 days since the previous AC power cycle). See the Important notes section in this Release Notes.

-Updated the Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT) BIOS Authenticated Code Module (ACM) to version 1.3.4.
-Updated the Intel Processor and Memory Reference Code to PLR3.1.
-To address CVE-2017-5715 (http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=2017-5715):
-Updated the Intel Xeon Processor Scalable Family Processor Microcode to version 0x43.
-CVE-2017-5753 and CVE-2017-5754 are addressed by Operating System & Hypervisor updates.

Important Information

An Intel Management Engine related issue that caused the BIOS update to fail is resolved in this BIOS 1.1.6 version.
- To work around this issue, AC power cycle the system or run the iDRAC RACADM power cycle command before updating the BIOS.
Warning: Running an iDRAC RACADM power cycle command while running an operating system causes an ungraceful shutdown.
- This included remedy becomes effective only after the device is updated with this BIOS 1.1.6 version.
- The first attempt to upgrade to this 1.1.6 version will fail, but the second attempt will pass if done within 24 days after the first attempt.

Dell Update Package Instructions for EFI
Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the "I agree" link if you accept the agreement.
3. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.
Installation
You can update the BIOS using a UEFI shell bootable media, such as a USB key.
1. Copy the file to the bootable device with UEFI shell.
2. Boot the system to UEFI shell by using the bootable device.
3. Run the executable (.efi) under the UEFI shell. Follow the instructions provided by the flash utility.

You can also load this executable directly from BIOS Boot Manager without a UEFI shell bootable media.
1. Copy the file to a USB device
2. Plug in the USB device and press F11 during POST to enter BIOS Boot Manager
3. Navigate to the System Utilities menu and select BIOS Update File Explorer
4. Select the USB device and navigate through the directory contents to find the executable (.efi)
5. Launch the executable and follow the instructions provided by the flash utility.
