- Fixed the issue where the user cannot enter the BIOS SETUP (with F2) with wrong setup password entered under 3 times when the setup is under lockdown (read only) mode.
- Fixed a system timing issue with the 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors Medium Core Count (MCC) CPU under certain conditions. It may result in a Caching Home Agent (CHA) Table Of Request (TOR) timeout potentially leading to a system hang. An extra cold reboot will be performed after the BIOS update to let the fix take effect.
Enhancements:
- Added Intel Optimized Power Mode under BIOS SETUP "System Profile Settings" page.
- Added Intel Xeon CPU Max Series Flat Mode
- Supported "Optimizer Mode" feature under BIOS setup "Processor Settings" page to have better performance for the following platforms. The iDRAC version needs to be 6.10.85.00 or a higher one:
* Added MX760c with air cooling / liquid cooling
- Added pre-defined Secure Boot Policies for various operating systems. For example, when the Secure Boot Policy setting in BIOS Setup is set to Windows(R) Boot, the Secure Boot policy includes only those certificates necessary to boot Windows(R) operating systems. These pre-defined policies help reduce the system's attack surface by removing certificates in the Secure Boot Policy that are not needed for the chosen operating system. See F2 System Setup > System BIOS > System Security > Secure Boot Policy.
- Added the "UEFI CA Certificate Scope" setting in F2 System Setup > System BIOS > System Security. This setting controls how the Secure Boot feature uses the industry standard UEFI CA certificate in the Authorized Signature Database (db). For example, system administrators can configure this setting to use the UEFI CA certificate only for verifying boot device firmware (such as RAID controller firmware or NIC firmware) and not for verifying operating system loaders. This is useful in preventing attacks that exploit vulnerable operating system loaders signed by the UEFI CA certificate.
- Added a "Memory Paging Policy" item under the "Memory Setting" page in the BIOS SETUP for latency fine-tuning. Two options are available. "Adaptive Paging" and "Closed Paging". The default is "Closed Paging". which is the same setting as the previous BIOS.
- Updated the followings:
* Intel processor and memory reference codes to Post Launch Release 2/3 Out of Band (PLR2/3 OOB).
* Intel processor microcode to version 0x4b1 in the 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors Family.
