If you are updating the Pantera firmware over the Odin firmware, you need to follow below given steps.
Update via MC CLI
First update the MC firmware via MC CLI using folloing command. load -source tftp:///MC_OP.d7 -install /
It will take few minutes to update and may report a failure. Depending on the MC's current active partition the older Odin firmware or the newer Pantera firmware will boot after update.
Note: 1) If the MC does not reboot automatically, DO NOT REBOOT IT as this will cause data corruption. - recovery from a corrupt state will require a serial console connection and performing a UBOOT recovery.
2) During this step all MC config files (mc.conf and manufacturing.conf) will get lost and newer firware will start with the default config files and MC is configured in DHCP.
Now you need to again update the same MC Pantera firmware via MC CLI using folloing command. load -source tftp:///MC_OP.d7 -install /
After updating MC twice, you can now use the MC with Pantera firmware.
Update via UBOOT Power on the MC Board and press "Enter" to enter in boot mode
First update the existing uboot using following command. G5MC> util recover -i uboot1 -f /MC_BL.bin
On next auto reboot, again go into the boot mode by pressing "Enter".
Now update the MC firmware using following command. G5MC> util recover -f /MC_OP.d7
