Installing an image by using Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool:
Use the Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool version 3.0 to install the ThinLinux firmware Merlin images on your thin client. For information about installation instructions, see the Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool version 3.0 User's Guide available at https://downloads.dell.com/wyse/USBFT/.
Upgrading an image by using Wyse Device Manager (WDM):
Prerequisite: Install the Merlin-non pxe add-on of the existing image on the thin client before scheduling the image update.
1. Open the WDM server and copy the Merlin image (.exe) file to the desktop. Extract the EXE file that contains the RSP file.
2. Log in to Wyse Device Manager.
3. On the Dashboard page, click Applications.
4. Select Images.
5. Click the Create Package Plus (+) button.
The application prompts you to download the Package Register utility.
6. Click Allow.
The Create Package window is displayed with the Configure Package Register option and .exe file.
7. Download the EXE file on your local repository.
8. Navigate to the folder and run the Package Register utility file.
The WDM Package Registration Utility window is displayed.
9. Enter the WDM server address and user credentials in the respective fields.
10. Select RSP to register and click Browse.
The WDM Package Uploader window is displayed.
11. Click Open.
The list of selected packages is displayed.
12. Select the packages that you want to register and click Upload.
After the package is uploaded, the status is displayed as Success.
13. On the thin client, click Settings -> Management -> HAgent, enter the WDM server address and click Save.
14. On WDM, go to the Devices page, select the thin client and click Update.
15. In the Distribute package window, from the Select Package drop-down list, select Images.
16. Select the registered image and click Save.
17. On the thin client, click Update now.
Thin client reboots and the image is successfully installed.
