Dell PowerVault MD32/MD36 Series Resource DVD

This update is recommended for all Dell PowerVault MD32/MD36 storage arrays.

- On the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 operating system, DVDs are auto-mounted with the -noexec mount option. This option does not allow you to run any executables from the DVD. To fix this problem, you need to unmount the DVD, manually re-mount the DVD, and then run executables.

The command to unmount the DVD is:
# umount

The command to manually mount the DVD is:
# mount

- Operating System support for autorun varies. If the software does not automatically launch when the DVD is inserted, it must be manually invoked with one of the following commands in the root directory of the DVD:

Linux: ./autorun
Windows: md_launcher.exe

- On the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 operating system, before you run the silent install command, make sure to run the following script from the Resource DVD to install prerequisite packages:

# md_prereq_install.sh

# linux_hostnameupdates.sh

On the SuSE Linux Enterprise operating system, before you run the silent install command, make sure to run the following script from the Resource DVD to install prerequisite packages.

# linux_hostnameupdates.sh
