Note: This process wipes out all data on your device. Ensure that you have backed up the data on the target device before you begin the process.
Prerequisites a. You need a separate device that runs Windows 10 or later versions to install the Dell OS Recovery Tool and prepare a USB drive. The device must be connected to the Internet. b. Search and download the Dell OS Recovery Tool from www.dell.com/support. c. Install the Dell OS Recovery Tool on the Windows 10 system for preparing the USB drive. d. Download the file DellHybridClient_2403.45_U22.04_3000_TC.zip and extract the ISO image from the ZIP file.
Create a bootable USB drive as below: a. Plug in the USB drive to the device and select the USB drive. b. Open the Dell OS Recovery Tool and select the SWITCH TO ADVANCED RECOVERY option. c. Under Select an OS Image, browse to the extracted ISO file and click Open. d. Click NEXT. e. Click BURN OS.
Power on the device and immediately press F2 to bring up the BIOS screen and perform the following tasks. a. Ensure that the SATA operation is set to AHCI: Storage > SATA/NVMe Operation > select AHCI/NVMe b. Ensure that Data Wipe is completed: Security > Start Data Wipe > Enable. c. Delete the Boot Sequence before booting from USB Stick. d. Ensure that TPM is cleared: Security > TPM2.0 Security > clear. Skip if the TPM option is unavailable.
Perform the below steps to install Dell Hybrid Client FDE. a. Power off the Device and connect the Configured USB Drive to the Device. b. Power on the device and press the F12 key to go to the boot options. c. At the boot menu, select the connected USB drive and press Enter. d. Select Dell Recovery on the next screen and press Enter. e. Select the Install Dell Hybrid Client option on the Dell recovery screen and click Continue. NOTE: If there are multiple drives present on the device, select any drive from the drop-down list to continue. f. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
