DELL PowerEdge OEMR XL Dell Branded ID Module with Windows Embedded OS Support

This method is used to update the Identity Module on an OEM-R Enterprise system.

PREPARATION:
1) Ensure system is already de-branded and the CUST exe file is for your platform.
2) Note any iDRAC user settings that are important for your specific environment. 'Reset iDRAC to Default Settings' is needed for this installation and will set iDRAC user settings to revert to Dell standard Defaults.

Installation Steps
1. Start with the CustBSU.exe file, locate and unzip the self-extracting zip file by double-clicking it. Extract the included CustBSU.pm to a safe and accessible location. The .pm file is the one that will be used in this installation process. Do not use the Identity Module executable that does not have the term 'BSU' in the file name.
2. Open and login to the iDRAC GUI via a web browser. The link is https://idrac_ip_address
3. Use the iDRAC GUI method to upload and install the OEM Identity Module. From the main page, navigate to Maintenance/System Update on the top tab pane. Browse to and open the CustBSU.pm file and click Upload. Remember to use the CustBSU.pm file and not an executable or any other extension.
4. Once the upload completes, check the box next to the uploaded file under Update Details and then click Install to install the OEM ID.
5. After beginning the installation, a System Alert message will pop up; click on Job Queue to view the status of the Firmware Update: OEM ID Module job.
6. Once the installation finishes it will show Completed under Status: Overview:Server:Job Queue.
7. Once the job is complete, go to Maintenance:Diagnostics:Reset iDRAC. Reset the iDRAC.
8. Close the browser window, and wait a couple of minutes for the iDRAC to reset.
9. During this time, clear the cache for your browser. Instructions for clearing the cache for all major browsers are readily available online. This is a required step for certain branding options to show up.
10. Once the iDRAC is available again, and you are able to login, reboot (cold boot) the server. This may be accomplished via the iDRAC GUI, or directly from the system - either via the Virtual Console or a direct connection.
11. The system will reboot on its own (again) during the re-branding process, in order to complete CSIOR (Collect System Inventory On Reboot). Move to the host display monitor and press F2 to enter System Setup on the following reboot.
Note: CSIOR is turned on by default for your server. If however it is turned off, do turn it back on in order for the ID Module to successfully install. Refer to your Lifecycle Controller documentation in order to know how to turn CSIOR back on.
12. Once System Setup main page, click on System BIOS.
13. Once in the System BIOS page, click on Default in the lower right corner. Accept the Loading Default Settings dialogue by clicking Yes. Click OK to confirm.
14. Click on Finish in the lower right hand corner, and confirm the Saving Changes dialogue by clicking Yes. Confirm the Saving Changes Success dialogue by clicking on OK.
15. Click on Finish in the lower right hand corner of the System Setup page to exit and reboot the system. Confirm the exit by clicking on Yes in the Confirm Exit dialogue box.
16. Custom Branding is now complete. You may now validate all of the custom branding options you have selected including Logos, BIOS Settings, iDRAC Settings, and Lifecycle Controller settings.
