Installation instructions
Upgrading the ThinLinux image by using Wyse Management Suite:
1. Download and install the merlin_nonpxe-3.7.9-00.02_amd64.deb add-on. This add-on is available as Merlin Non-PXE add-on for ThinLinux version 2.1.0.00 on Dell Wyse 3040 thin clients.
2. Download the ThinLinux Merlin image file to the \repository\osImages\Zipped folder.
The Merlin image file is automatically extracted and moved to a valid folder.
3. Log in to Wyse Management Suite, and navigate to the Apps and Data page.
4. Click OS Image Policies, and select WES/Thin Linux.
5. Click Add Policy and enter the following details:
5.1. Policy name
5.2. From the drop-down list, select a valid group where the device is assigned.
5.3. Select the operating system type. For example, ThinLinux.
5.4. From the drop-down list, select the operating system image. The image that was copied in the repository is listed.
5.5. Select a valid rule. The rule is based on the image version (upgrade or downgrade).
5.6. Click Save -> Yes.
6. From drop-down list, select the policy name.
7. Enter a description, and click Run.
8. Click Preview, and click Schedule.
9. Click Update Now on the thin client UI to update the image.
Installing an image by using Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool:
Use the Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool version 3.1 to install the ThinLinux firmware Merlin images on your thin client. For information about installation instructions, see the Dell Wyse USB Imaging Tool version 3.1 User's Guide available at https://downloads.dell.com/wyse/USBFT/.
