Fixes & Enhancements
This release contains fixes for the following potential issues: 1. Network backups may fail when using teaming on the backup server. This new teaming driver corrects a problem where buffers became full and the NIC Team could no longer process incoming packets. 2. Database style traffic may cause the server to lose contact with the rest of the network when teaming is used. This issue is the same fix as the above issue. 3. When not teamed, the NIC may stop transmitting traffic when the application sending the data to the NIC fragments the data into multiple small pages. The new driver corrects the way it deals with this fragmented data.
To update the intermediate driver, please be sure to follow the steps outlined in the manual. 1. Save team(s) configuration(s). 2. Remove all teams. 3. Uninstall the BASP (intermediate or teaming) driver via the properties of any NIC. Click the protocol named Broadcom Advanced Server Program and then click the Uninstall button. 4. Reboot the system. 5. Install the new drivers 6. Restore the team.
Dell Technologies highly recommends applying this important update as soon as possible. The update contains critical bug fixes and changes to improve functionality, reliability, and stability of your Dell system. It may also include security fixes and other feature enhancements.
