Installation instructions
Instructions for A01_DOS.zip Download 1. Click the Download File link to download the file. 2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive. Extract Files 1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package. 2. Specify the location to unzip the files. 3. Click on the unzip button to extract files. Performing the DOS Flash update 1. For users unfamiliar with the DOS operating system, please refrain from using this update method and try to update the drive using the Windows update utility instead. 2. Browse to the foder which was created by extracting the ZIP file. 3. Copy BOTH Files ""SFLASHUP.EXE"" and ""6008D10A.DLD"" to either a bootable DOS floppy disk or a bootable USB storage drive. 4. Restart the computer and boot the computer into DOS using the DOS floppy or USB storage drive. (Hint: Hit F12 to utilitize the One-Time-Boot option to boot from the floppy or USB drivewithout having to change the BIOS bot order) 5. If neccessary, change directory to the location of the two update files mentioned in step 3. 6.type ""SFLASHUP 6008D10A.DLD"" at the DOS prompt to perform the update. Custom Instructions for HLDS_GDR-H20N-HH-16X-DVD-SAT_A01_R184355.EXE: Download 1.Click Download File, to download the file. 2.When the File Download window appears, click Save this program to disk (Windows XP users, click Save) and click OK. The Save In: window appears. 3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop. 4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file name icon appears on your desktop. Install 1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled HLDS_GDR-H20N-HH-16X-DVD-SAT_A01_R184355.EXE. The Self-Extractor window appears. 2.Click OK or Continue. The Self-Extracting Driver Installation window appears and prompts to extract files to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R184355\. 3.Leave all of the default settings and click Unzip or OK. If the directory doesn't exist, you'll be prompted to create one. Click Yes. A Self Extractor window appears and indicates C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R184355 files were extracted. 4.Click OK. 5.The Update utility will proceed to launch itself. 6.Ensure the HLDS GDR-H20N drive appears in the the pull-down window above the ""UPDATE"" button. 7.Click on ""UPDATE"". Click to acknowldge installing 0D08 FW over the old FW version of the drive. 8.It is advisable to restart the computer after the firmware update has been completed.
