Dell OptiPlex System BIOS, A04

Do not turn off your computer or disconnect from the power source while updating the BIOS as this could harm your computer. During the update, your computer will restart and you may briefly see a black screen.

The following changes have been made to BIOS rev A03 to create A04.


1. Added support for Pentium III (SMBIOS, SETUP, Microcode updates).

2. Disable CPU 'Processor Number' feature in Pentium III.

3. Change copyright to 1999.

4. Fixed possible Teac CDROM non-boot problem.

5. Updated SMBIOS to properly report system bus speed.

6. Update SETUP for different CPU cache sizes.

7. Update TIME and DATE fields in SETUP continuously, not just TIME.

8. Locked TIME and BOOT SEQUENCE if setup password enabled.

9. Updated L2 cache initialization code to Intel's latest.

10. Fixed boot problem with Adaptec 1542CP adapter in PnP mode.
