NOTE: You will need a zip utility program to unzip this file.
Download the zip file to your hard drive.
When the package is unzipped the following folders exist:
\docs - This folder contains the Dell OpenManage Remote Assistant Card User's Guide. Double click on index.htm (you must have a web browser installed) to start the User's Guide.
This folder also contains dracread.txt which contains the latest information on the DRAC including compatibility charts, open issues and additional information not included in the User's Guide.
\firmware - This folder contains the latest firmware for the DRAC. If you are running firmware in the DRAC prior to version 2.3, you must update the firmware to support the Linux rpm packages. If you are running version 2.3 firmware with a build date of June 20, 2000 and are using the AC wall adapter as power back up, you need to update the firmware. The new firmware fixes an issue that shuts the DRAC down thirty minutes after the server loses power. The graceful card shutdown is required if the DRAC is backed up by the battery pack but not if the AC wall adapter is providing power. The new firmware is version 2.3 with a build date of October 26, 2000.
Double click on the self extracting executable and follow the prompts to create a firmware flash diskette. Boot the server on the firmware flash diskette to upgrade the DRAC firmware.
\ie_console - This folder contains the DRAC II Web Console version 2.3.1 setup files. These files are installed on a management station running Windows NT or Windows 2000 operating system. Internet Explorer 4.0 or later must be installed to support the DRAC II Web Console.
Double click on setup.exe to start installing the DRAC II Web Console.
\rpm - This folder contains the DRAC version 2.3.2 Linux rpm packages. These files install the DRAC agents on a managed node running Linux 7.0. Read the drac_linux_install.txt file in this folder for instructions for installing the rpm packages. The install instructions are written for installation from a compact disk (CD). If you chose not to create a CD, the rpm packages may be copied to the hard drive and installed from there. The DRAC II Web Console version 2.3.1 included in this package can properly remotely manage the version 2.3.2 DRAC agents for Linux.
