Downloading the upgrade
1. Download and run the file 128TA00.EXE.
NOTE: You must download this file to the system connected to the PowerVault 128T.
2. Run the executable file by double-clicking the icon.
3. Select Continue to extract the files.
4. The files will extract to the folder x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware- A00, where x:\ is used to denote the system root path.
5. If the above folder does not exist, select OK to create it.
6. Locate the file readme.txt in the above-mentioned folder. This file contains the install instructions listed below.

x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware-A00 - Contains the update procedures. x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\LTO Library – Contains the LTO library firmware. x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\SDLT Library – Contains the SDLT library firmware. x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\LTO Drive – Contains the LTO tape drive firmware. x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\Tape Tools – Contains Dell Library and Tape Tools software that can be used for updating firmware. x:\dell\drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\SDLT – Contains SDLT Tape Drive Firmware and upgrade program
Upgrading the PowerVault 128T LTO Library Firmware
There are two options for upgrading the PowerVault 128T Library firmware. These are through the Dell Library and Tape Tools software as well as through the PowerVault 128T remote management card.
Upgrading the PowerVault 128T Library Firmware through Dell Library and Tape Tools
1. Go to the directory x:\Dell\Drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\Tape Tools. Click on the program Dell – LTT_Install.exe and follow the directions to complete the installation. This program will create the default directory x:\Program Files\Dell Library & Tape Tools. Do NOT execute the utility at this time.
2. This will also install a copy of the Dell Library & Tape Tools icon on your system desktop.
3. A reboot of the machine may be necessary to update the system ASPI files.
Upgrading the firmware
1. Click on the Dell Library & Tape Tools icon on your system desktop or click on HP_LTT.exe in the directory x:\Program Files\Dell Library & Tape Tools.
2. The Dell Library & Tape Tools – Version 2.7 window will appear.
3. Click on Continue.
4. After the device scan is complete, select HP C7200 under the By Product tab
5. Click on the Firmware icon above. A warning message may appear that states:
There are no matching firmware files in the currently selected firmware folder.
This is normal since the firmware upgrade directory has not been specified. This will be performed in the next few steps.
6. Instructions for upgrading will appear on the left screen.
7. In the local firmware files tab of the Dell Library and Tape Tools application, select the firmware location by Browsing to the directory x:\Dell\Drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\LTO Library
8. Click on the update firmware tab and check the box next to the Library (C7200)
9. Click on Start Update button.
10. A warning message will appear. After reading the message, click OK.
11. The library will begin to upgrade the firmware. This may take up to 30 minutes. The front panel of the PV128T will display the upgrade status. Do not remove power to the library during this time.
12. At the end of the upgrade, a window will appear with the results of the upgrade.
13. Once the upgrade is complete, click OK. The library will reboot itself once the upgrade is complete.
14. Once the library has been upgraded, close the application.
