Upgrading the PowerVault 128T LTO Library Firmware

There are two options for upgrading the PowerVault 128T Library
firmware. These are through the Dell Library and Tape Tools software as
well as through the PowerVault 128T remote management card.

Upgrading the PowerVault 128T Library Firmware through Dell Library and
Tape Tools

1. Go to the directory x:\Dell\Drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\Tape
Tools. Click on the program Dell – LTT_Install.exe and follow the
directions to complete the installation. This program will create the
default directory x:\Program Files\Dell Library & Tape Tools. Do NOT
execute the utility at this time.

2. This will also install a copy of the Dell Library & Tape Tools
icon on your system desktop.

3. A reboot of the machine may be necessary to update the system
ASPI files.

Upgrading the firmware

1. Click on the Dell Library & Tape Tools icon on your system

4. After the device scan is complete, select HP C7200 under the By

that states:

There are no matching firmware files in the currently selected firmware

This is normal since the firmware upgrade directory has not been
specified. This will be performed in the next few steps.

6. Instructions for upgrading will appear on the left screen.

Tools application, select the firmware location by Browsing to the
directory x:\Dell\Drivers\128T\Firmware-A00\LTO Library

Library (C7200)

9. Click on Start Update button.

10. A warning message will appear. After reading the message, click
OK.

to 30 minutes. The front panel of the PV128T will display the upgrade
status. Do not remove power to the library during this time.

12. At the end of the upgrade, a window will appear with the results
of the upgrade.

13. Once the upgrade is complete, click OK. The library will reboot
itself once the upgrade is complete.

14. Once the library has been upgraded, close the application.
