Download the File to your Desktop

This file A08i4100.exe uses the Floppy Disk format and is designed to be directly executed from Windows environment.



  1. Click Download now




    The File Download window appears.


  2. Click the Save button.


    The Save As window appears.


  3. Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.


  4. Click the Save button.


    A progress meter moves as the download is completed.



If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.








noteNOTE:Shut down all other applications prior to running the BIOS update utility. The update utility reboots your system in order to get the new BIOS loaded.



Run the BIOS Update Utility From Windows Environment



  1. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled A08i4100.exe.


    The Dell Floppy BIOS Image creation window appears


  2. Click the Continue button.


    The Dell Floppy BIOS Image creation utility is copying a bootable image to your diskette.


  3. Click the Finish button.



  4. Shutdown your computer.


  5. Reboot your computer ensuring the newly created floppy disk is inserted in your floppy drive.


    Your computer will boot from the floppy diskette and flash the Systems BIOS.



After it has completed, remove the floppy diskette and restart your computer.










Hard Drive Installation (via WinZip) with Setup.exe File for I41-A08.exe

1.Click Download Now, to download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click Save (Windows XP
users will click Save) this program to disk and click OK. The Save In:
window appears.
3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to
select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.
4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file
icon appears on your desktop.

Install

1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled I41-A08.exe.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\r43695. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\r43695 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
