Fixes & Enhancements
Dellmgr fixes or changes:
1. Disallows spanning across fractured/partial arrays.
2. Default write policy on logical drives on dedicated channel is made to be WRITEBACK.
3. "Warning/error message is introduced in case of HSP making failed" in view/add configuration or Easy Configuration menu through F4 option in presence of "Rebuild or any other operation".
4. There was a bug reported with the previous version of this utility. Even for physical drives on SCSI chnl, it was showing coerced size. This is fixed in this release.
5. Disallows Disk Spin Up timing on CERC ATA100/4CH card & plus other enhancements and fixes.
6. Support added for PERC 4/DI.
7. Physical drive properties now pass correct channel number parameter.
8. "Number of logical drives" shown in "Logical Drives Configured-xx" at some places were showing wrong values because of its improper initialization. Now it is initialized and patched properly.
9. Adapter type string in adapter menu: is now shown up to 40-chars (earlier up to 32-chars).
10. Background Initialization/Consistency Checking is distinguished thru a firmware command. A distinctive message is shown during selection of logical drive for initialization/Consistency checking.
11. The configuration utility's banner has been renamed from "PERC configuration Manager" to "PERC/CERC configuration utility".
12. "Logical Info drive" quit option problem has been fixed.
13. Default Write Policy for Perc 4/SC is changed to WRITEHTRU.
14. Support added for x-term. Now this utility works on the normal as well as the x-term of Linux.
15. If any physical drive is misbehaving and reporting a non-usable size, that physical drive is not allowed in the configuration now.
16. Support of PERC 4/DC and PERC 4/SC.
Linflash fixes or changes:
1. To add support for PERC 4/DC and PERC 4/SC controller cards.
2. To provide same binary for 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
3. To fix a bug in ProductInfo structure.
4. Fix a bug - Reboot message only appears if the last controller is flashed successfully - when multiple controllers are present in the system.
5. Added code for doing a dummy Read config and write config before flashing, to make flash work with certain firmwares.
6. Changed the packager name to LSI Logic Corporation in RPM package.
7. Added checking for background operations, so that flashing cannot proceed.
8. Product String displayed by the flash utility will be from the product info returned by the firmware.

1. To add statistics support (NIT interface).
2. General Error was returned if the PERC 4/DI specific Ioctl fail.
3. Instead of General Error, -1 is returned.

Installation instructions
Custom Instructions for perc4-rhl-apps-6.01-a02.tar.gz:
Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the "I agree" link to accept the agreement.
3. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.
Extract Files
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and extract the file using the following commands:
From a Linux system type the following commands under a Linux command shell:
a. mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
b. tar xvzf -C /mnt/floppy (Eg: /temp/xxxx.tar.gz)
c. umount /mnt/floppy
From a Windows system:
NOTE: For Winzip you will have to uncheck the "TAR file smart CR/LF conversion" option under Options->Configuration->Miscellaneous for the extraction to work correctly.
a. Double-click the file that was downloaded
b. Click Continue.
c. Specify the location to upzip the files.
d. Click on the OK button to extract files.
e. After a few seconds a dialog box will appear that says that all files were successfully unzipped. Click OK to exit from the installer.
2. On the target system, mount the floppy created above as follows: mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
Installation of Dellmgr
1. Enter the following on the command line: rpm -ivh /mnt/floppy/dellmgr-5.25-0.i386.rpm
This will install following two files in the /usr/sbin directory
dellmgr :Script to call configuration utility binary (dellmgr.bin)
dellmgr.bin :Binary for configuration utility
2. After installation type "dellmgr" to start the utility.
3. To uninstall the rpm, enter the following command: rpm -e dellmgr-5.25-0
NOTE: If Dellmgr is used in Gnome Terminal instead of the console, function key shourtcuts are accessible with alt-Fxx instead of Fxx. (Eg: Use alt-F10 in place of F10.)
Installation of Linflash
1. Enter the following on the command line: rpm -ivh /mnt/floppy/linflash-2.15-0.i386.rpm
NOTE: You must copy the firmware image to the same directory for the linux flash utility to work. Create a diskette image of the firmware and copy the .rom file to the same directory as linflash.
Usage : linflash [-r] [-p] [-s] [-i [file] [file] [...]] [-f [file] [file] [...]]
-r : Flash without asking for user input to flash adapter(s).
-p : Prompt user for filename. Flash without checking for signatures.
-s : Silent flash. First matching image file will be taken for each adapter.
-i : Ignore the following files. These files will not be considered for flashing the matching controllers
-f : Force the following files To be flashed for the matching controller. In case more than one matching files are specified, the First one would be taken.
Installation of Megamon
1. Enter the following on the command line: rpm -ivh /mnt/floppy/megamon-3.6-0.i386.rpm
NOTE: For email notification edit /var/log/raidmon.lst file. See details in the header section of this file.
2. To start the monitoring service: /etc/rc.d/init.d/raidmon start
3. To stop the monitoring service: /etc/rc.d/init.d/raidmon stop
4. To restart the monitoring service: /etc/rc.d/init.d/raidmon [restart|reload]
5. To uninstall the rpm, enter the following command: rpm -e megamon-3.6-0
Installation procedure for DELL PERC SNMP Agent for Linux
1. Enter the following on the command line: rpm -ivh /mnt/floppy/percsnmp-4.07-1.i386.rpm
NOTE: If you have installed an earlier release of percsnmp please uninstall it before proceeding.
2. You may install this file on non-RPM system from the tgz file as follows:
a. Untar the DELL PERC SNMP Agent tar package
b. tar xvzf percsnmp-4.07-1.tgz
c. cd percsnmp
d. ./install
Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
