To update Windows 10 IoT Enterprise using Wyse Device Manger, do the following:
1 Download the file.
2 After the download is complete, extract the contents to a local storage location.
3 Configure the thin client to register itself to the WDM server.
4 Register the extracted image package to the WDM server.
5 After the package or device registration is complete, followthe WDM imaging process, and start the image update task.
After the update process is complete, the thin client reboots into Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, and the first boot process is initiated. For more information about WDM imaging process, see WDM 5.7.2 Administrators guide at downloads.dell.com/wyse/.
To update Windows 10 IoT Enterprise using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), do the following:
1 Update the master image by deploying the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise image using a USB drive, created using the USB Imaging Tool, to a single thin client.
2 After the update process, the thin clients boots to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. Complete any image customizations (if required) and run the ConfigMgr sysprep scripts.
After the sysprep process is complete, the client shuts down. The master image is captured using the SCCM server and the image is deployed to other thin clients.
To update Windows 10 IoT Enterprise using the USB Imaging Tool, do the following:
1 Copy the downloaded and extracted Windows 10 IoT Enterprise update image package to a predefined folder on the imaging ready USB pen drive.
2 Update script on the USB drive to point to the image folder.
3 Boot the thin client device with USB imaging pen drive, and allow the imaging process to complete. After this process, the thin client is updated to the new Windows 10 IoT Enterprise image.
