Requirements:
- Alienware 17 R4 (Intel 6th generation chipset)
- Nvidia 1080 GTX GPU only
- 120Hz GSYNC LCD only
- system BIOS version 1.0.12 or later

Before updating, please:
- update system BIOS to version 1.0.12 or later
- attach the AC adapter
- make sure the battery has a least 10% charge
- exit all other applications
nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060/1070/1080
Preferred method (run from Windows command prompt):
1. Double-click the self-extracting .zip file to extract the update utility ("1080oc8F.exe") and the instructions (this document)
2. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges - right click on the windows icon and select "Command Prompt (Admin)"
3. Change the directory to the location of the upgrade utility (default directory is C:\1080_OC) and type "1080oc8F.exe" at the command prompt - the utility will begin to search for the 1080 GTX GPU
4. At this point, the screen will change to a lower resolution as the system prepares to update the video BIOS - the command prompt window may shift as a result. This is expected, and the command prompt can be dragged back into full view
5. If all the hardware requirements are met, there will be a prompt to type "y" to continue the upgrade process
6. After the update is successful (15 to 20 seconds), the system will automatically reboot
7. Alternative result - if the overclocking video BIOS is already installed, the utility will exit since no updating is needed
8. Alternative result - if the system does not meet all the hardware requirements, the utility will exit without updating

Alternate method (click icon):
1. Double-click the self-extracting .zip file to extract the update utility ("1080oc8F.exe") and the instructions (this document)
2. Right click the 1080oc8F.exe icon (default directory is C:\1080_OC) and select "run as administrator" to start the process
3. At this point, the screen will change to a lower resolution as the system prepares to update the video BIOS - the command prompt window may shift as a result. This is expected, and the command prompt can be dragged back into full view
4. If all the hardware requirements are met, there will be a prompt to type "y" to continue the upgrade process
