This package contains the firmware for Western Digital MN500S-2 Series 500GB hard disk drive, Revision 04.01A04, and is supported on Alienware, Inspiron, OptiPlex, Precision, IoT, Latitude and Vostro models that run Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 operating systems. This package fixes the sluggish performance issue of hard drive after resuming from sleep mode.

1. Click Download File and follow the remaining prompts to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Run to unzip the download package into your hard drive.
3. The file explorer opens pointing to the directory containing the download package. Take note of the path.

1. Save the Firmware Update Package (Western Digital MN500S-2 F70YY_ZPE.exe) to the designated folder
2. Execute unzip
3. Double click wd7114.exe file as administrator privilege
4. Follow GUI instruction and wait for FW Update complete or successful message
5. Reboot the system, if necessary
6. To check the drive FW by the 3rd party software (eg. DiskCheckup - http://www.passmark.com/products/diskcheckup.htm)
