Default Instructions for QO24077.tar:

Download
1. Click Download Now, to download the file.

2. At the Export Compliance Disclaimer window, click Yes, I Accept
this Agreement.

3. When the File Download window appears, click Save this program to
disk (Windows XP users, click Save) and click OK. The Save In: window
appears.

4. From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to
select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.

5. If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file
name icon appears on your desktop.

6. If you used a Windows machine to perform the dowload, you must
copy the downloaded file to the Linux server where ARCserve for
Linux is installed.

Install
1. This update requires ARCserve 7.0 Advanced Edition for Linux to be
installed.
2. Shutdown ARCserve.
3. Unzip the fix file as follows:

uncompress QO24077.tar.Z
tar -xvf QO24077.tar

4. To apply the patch manually, following these instructions:

5. Rename .devlist.dat in $ARC_HOME/config directory
to .devlist.dat.b4_QO24077.

6. Rename .devlist.dat in $ARC_HOME/newconfig directory
to .devlist.dat.b4_QO24077.

7. Rename aprocess in $ARC_HOME/sbin directory
to aprocess.b4_QO24077.

8. Rename asmediad_devices in $ARC_HOME/sbin directory
to asmediad_devices.b4_QO24077.

9. Rename asmediad in $ARC_HOME/sbin directory to
asmediad.b4_QO24077.

10. Extract all files from as70_patch04_linux.tar.

11. Copy new .devlist.dat to $ARC_HOME/config directory.

12. Copy new .devlist.dat to $ARC_HOME/newconfig directory.

13. Copy new asmediad_devices to $ARC_HOME/sbin directory.

14. Copy new asmediad to $ARC_HOME/sbin directory.

15. Copy new aprocess to $ARC_HOME/sbin directory.

16. Change the permission mode of asmediad to 555.

17. Change the permission mode of aprocess to 555.

18. Start up ARCserve.
