Symptoms

Alienware Area-51m R2 may show a blank screen with the backlight on after starting the computer from a powered-off state or restarting the computer. The issue occurs when connecting the Alienware Graphics Amplifier (AGA) to the computer and the external monitor while the display output mode is Second Screen Only.

Cause

This is due to the operating system not knowing which mode that GPU has been set before the reboot.

Resolution

Change the display mode again by pressing "Win + P" or "Fn + F8" to regain the display back on the screen.
