Symptoms

  • A service is built manually with a LIA password that is different than the MDM/GW admin password and the service is added to PowerFlex Manager using the Add Existing Service function.
  • When a PowerFlex upgrade is initiated using PowerFlex Manager, the upgrade automation changes the LIA password to match the MDM and GW admin passwords if they are different.
  • The LIA password is set to the admin password that is defined in the PowerFlex admin credential.

Cause

PowerFlex Manager currently expects the LIA password to be same as MDM cluster/GW admin password.

Resolution

Before doing any operation in PowerFlex Manager, the user should be aware that the LIA password has to be the same as the MDM cluster/GW admin password.
If the LIA password is different than the MDM cluster/GW admin password, PowerFlex Manager resets the LIA Password to match the same as the MDM cluster/GW admin Password automatically as a part of the PowerFlex upgrade process.
