Symptoms

A customer may see that a filesystem goes offline after attempting an IMT commit operation on OE 5.1 or newer. This can cause the commit operation to fail. Log messages such as these may be observed in the ktrace logs:

Cause

An issue with a newer IMT function in 5.1.x is resulting in a regular file having readdir issued on it when this should only occur on a directory.

Resolution

A code fix is implemented in 5.1.3.x and 5.2.x. If you get this issue you should be able to re-attempt the commit and see it succeed the second time around. If this does not work, you can upgrade first before re-attempting the migration.
